We've spent a lot of time covering the trials and tribulations of the ongoing quartz tariffs saga, and things aren't getting any less complicated. Tariffs continue to skyrocket while manufacturers, designers, and fabricators alike are beginning to feel the impact on their wallets. Meanwhile, the public opinion continues to shift, as trends come and go and consumers grow smarter. They want more out of their surfacing. It's no longer just about price and that perfect veining the Jones family has next door in their too-perfect starter kitchen. As all things Stranger Things pervade every corner of the social sphere, we couldn't help but draw parallels between the hit Netflix show and our favorite strong and strange material, Lapitec sintered stone. Biomimicry and Building Materials - What You Need to Know

Imagine spending four billion years in school.  That is a lot of education, and it forms the baseline for everything around us as we know it. For billions of years, nature has been adapting and evolving to changing temperatures, sea levels, climates, canopies and weather patterns, constantly learning and adjusting to survive.

 

Building has evolved for a few thousand years, starting with rocks, peaking with glass-clad high rises across the globe, and now settling back into an attempted harmony with nature.  

 

We are optimistic about the trend of bringing nature into the space through Biophilic Design, and we are eager to see more widespread adoption of Biomimicry on its heels.

A Whizard in a Blizzard -  A 2-Day Crash Course in Improving Building Materials Marketing

Venturing out to Boulder, CO the day before a bomb cyclone to meet with a group of building materials suppliers and marketing gurus may not appear to be the most sound of decisions.  We are all experts in our field and run companies brilliantly, so what could we possibly learn from a LinkedIn pontificator with over 300 pairs of socks and a packed agenda of marketing techniques which we have all heard of and implemented to some degree already?  

A lot.

New Year, New Showroom
