It is now anyway. We have expanded our reach with the addition of Stirling Morris as Director of Southwest Sales for CaraGreen. Stirling’s experience in commercial architectural product sales coupled with his background in education makes him an ideal fit for CaraGreen’s collection of modern surfaces and our suite of training programs for the architect and design community. Stirling will be focused on growing awareness and specifications of our beautiful, sustainable suite of surfacing products, including IceStone, Durat, and PaperStone. Please reach out to Stirling and welcome him to the team- stirling@caragreen.com

While we had a great time at GreenBuild 2016 in LA, it was because we were able to cohesively bring three of our brands together as Modern Surfaces: Durat, IceStone and PaperStone. This collection of partners and products made a big splash with our Create Better campaign. (more on this later). However, the overall feel of GreenBuild as a show has changed – and not for the better. There were not many building materials there, and those that were felt like clones of one another, with no real sustainability story. The people across from us were selling massage chairs. This was nice for us, but not sure this is the market for $7000 chairs. And why were they not vetted? Next year is in Boston, and it will be interesting to see the direction that show takes.

We recently completed a Spotlight Solar project using PaperStone, the incredibly durable, sustainable composite, to build an outdoor solar charging station at NC State campus. The station consists of two modern curve shaped pieces of PaperStone below a top-mounted solar panel that powers the outlets and ports where students can dock their devices and work on the PaperStone surface. If successful, the program will undergo a national rollout.

Thanks to all who attended our Modern Surfaces webinar on October 8th. We received great feedback and agreement on the evolution of the surfacing market and the increasing adoption of sustainable materials by the current design contingent (and the waning desire for stone). Good news for PaperStone, Merge, IceStone and Durat. To schedule an in person presentation or webinar, please call 919-929-3009.
We are getting our game on this September by recruiting the best lineup of our vibrant autumn colors for this month's vignette.
