Coastal Calm - June 2025

At the beginning of June the CaraGreen team and a group of interior designers from around the country flew to across the pond to visit the Durat headquarters in Finland. The group toured the newly redesigned Helsinki showroom (pictured) and the flagship Durat manufacturing facility in Turku.

At the factory they saw firsthand Durat’s innovative use of recycled post-industrial plastics, utilizing up to 28% recycled content, to produce seamless solid surfaces in over one-hundred vivid colors. At the facility, they toured the production floor and learned about Durat’s closed-loop, take‑back circular model.

The visit wrapped with a sauna experience and a trip to Alvar Aalto’s iconic Paimio Sanatorium, a stunning example of biophilic design that left everyone inspired.
