We want you to know about a major shift in California: Cal/OSHA has moved to ban high-silica engineered stone amid a fast-growing silicosis epidemic among fabricators. On a brighter note, we're introducing two new GEOS colorways, Iceland and Greenland, exploring "enclosure" as our design theme, and recapping our trip to Copenhagen with our partners at Durat.

We're continuing to prep the industry for LEED v5 with our ongoing CE course. We're spotlighting our Organoid skeleton-leaf surfacing as a way to create light-filtering transitions between spaces, digging into "threshold" as our design theme, and sharing our recap of Coverings 2026 in Las Vegas - including the growing presence of the Latin American Fabricators Network and where we see the industry heading on automation and sustainability.

We're hosting a CE webinar on March 25th covering the legislation reshaping crystalline silica surfacing. We're also introducing two new additions to our Organoid wallcovering line, Color Splash and Superbloom, and exploring "nook" as our design theme this month. Plus, we took our own team on a field trip to a local recycling facility here in Raleigh to see where our recycled materials really come from.

Our Durat surfaces are now part of the new Netflix House in Dallas, and we're proud of how they came together in that space. This issue we're focused on "refuge" as a design theme — using our backlit glass2 and live-edge Timber Slab Tables to create calming, restorative interiors — and we're recapping our time at Cosentino's C.Next event in Riviera Maya, where we got an early look at silica-free materials we're excited to bring to our customers.

We're highlighting our new Durat "Little Chip Energy" color collection along with our Organoid flower-embedded surfacing. We put together a "meadow magic" design guide built around wildflower palettes and natural textures, and we're excited to announce we'll be hosting our first Raleigh Technical Summit this October 20–22.

We're excited to introduce four new colors in our Koskisen Bistro Collection plywood line. We're also sharing our take on desert-inspired design — pairing our PaperStone surfaces with Koskisen plywood and sculptural desert plants — and recapping our midyear meeting, where we traded laptops for pickleball paddles (fitting, since we've seen a real surge in pickleball project requests lately).

We flew our team and a group of designers to Helsinki to tour Durat's newly redesigned showroom and our flagship manufacturing facility in Turku, where we saw firsthand how much recycled plastic goes into our solid surfaces and how our closed-loop take-back model works. We capped the trip with a sauna and a visit to Alvar Aalto's Paimio Sanatorium. This issue we're also spotlighting our GEOS Destin countertop, sharing tips for bringing coastal calm indoors, and recapping our time supporting the Latin American Fabricators Network event in Houston.
